Welcome to the Jersey Channel Islands Model Engineering Society. If you are intereseted in using metal lathes, milling machines or any type of metal work then this site may be of interest to you. I have designed this site to enable fellow model engineers of Jersey to share their interest.

Model Engineeing Lessons.
If you would like to be shown around a lathe or mill drop me an email and I can teach you the basics. What is more likely is that you could teach me some techniques. I have about 5 years experience on and off.

Do you read Model Engineer or Engineering in Minature? Do you know many local machine enthusiasts?
Have you ever wondered who else buys model engineer from the news agent? I have struggled to find such people in the island who share the same interest. Whilst there is the excellent Jersey Model Railway club, I am unaware of a society that covers all types of models be it stationary steam engines, internal combustion engines, stirling engines, boilers, clocks etc.

Shows and Events
My ultimate aim would be to have an open event similar to the model railway club held at St Peters comunity hall. Initially I would like to hold a stand at this event displaying models from local model engineers. The aim of such an event would be to encourage others to take up the hobby.
